Task 4 - Independant Film

Independent film

Ill Manors is an independent film one of the many Hoodie Horrors, it was Plan B (Ben Drews) debut and it did very well for its production budget of only £100, 000 this is most likely down to the synergy of Plan B releasing an album to go along with the film making for great marketing and with the posters being released on a few different websites. Also the film used a mix of digital and traditional marketing for the film with a "tweet to unlock" campaign with the hashtag #illmanorsalbum. The youth was heavily marketed because the films story revolved around teenage youths and crime in London; across Radio 1 & 1 extra, Channel 4 & E4 and YouTube. The film made 2 and a half times its budget in the opening weekend : £256,288. This can simply be put down to the marketing and the fact that it was Plan B as the director which in itself is marketing.
